Annual PreSchool Screening The Annual Preschool Screening is being held on Friday, February 28, 2014. If you are interested in having your three- to four-year-old child considered for enrollment in September 2014 in the Hamilton-Wenham Integrated Pre-Kindergarten program, please call the Student Services office at 978-468-5303 to schedule a screening appointment.
The Hamilton-Wenham Pre-Kindergarten Program provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, speech/language and pre-academic development of children ages three and four years old.
Of course, if your child is too young for PreSchool, call Lisa at 978-468-5489 about CFCE playgroups. We are offering a third group at the end of March!
We are having so much fun singing and dancing at the Musical Story Time Jam. Class is a full house! We can't accept any more registrations for the Monday morning Jam. I am working on adding a third session, a March/April session, and planning other groups that will have lots of music, books, and opportunities to play and explore. Enjoy this great video. We will dance to this favorite in the morning.
We read this adorable book at playgroup. It's about a cat who describes ten different colors and tells us which is his favorite. Here is a direct link to this book in the library catalogue. Click on it to place a hold on this fun book. Cat's Colors Catalogue Link at Hamilton-Wenham Library.
At our last council meeting, Grace Chmura of Christ Church Parish Day School, shared information with us about a workshop she hosted and attended regarding Poison Control. A great resource for parents is Poison Help. They offer Free, Fast, Expert Help. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. She gave a stickers to attach to our phone, handouts, and brochures that are full of important information. I will leave some of the literature on our resource table and bring some to playgroup on Monday.
I highly advise that you visit the website to learn more about what toxic substances may be lurking in your cabinet or purse. According to a flyer distributed by the Regional Center for Poison Control and Prevention, the Top Ten Poison Exposures in Children Under 5 are:
1. Cosmetics and Personal Care Products
2. Household Cleaning Products
3. Foreign Bodies and Toys
4. Topical Preparations (ointments, creams, gels and lotions)
5. Analgesics (pain relievers)
7. Cold and Cough Medications
8. Arts/crafts/office supplies
Should he already be walking? He doesn't talk as much as the other kids in our playgroup? She seems to cry a lot.
CFCE of Hamilton-Wenham offers a quick, safe and FREE questionnaire for families with children between the ages of 2 months and 5 years residing in Hamilton-Wenham. You can complete a free Ages and Stages (ASQ-3) developmental screening. It only takes 10 minutes to complete.
Reach out and help your child learn and grow!
Call Lisa at 978-468-5489 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more or to set up a time to take the questionnaire.
We are so happy that the playgroups are full, but sad that we have to turn people away. We are looking to add a third group ASAP. Please check back and send us a note on the Contact Us page if you wish to be notified when a third playgroup is added, about other free playgroups that we will sponsor in the New Year, and about parent education workshops and special events. We are busy working at providing many groups and opportunities in the community. Call or email anytime for anything. We will do our best to point you in the right direction.
